Prices on request.
Imagine walking through beautiful countryside or overlooking the sea, chatting in English all day to a Teacher-Guide…
The UK is one of the best places in the world for walking. We have an amazing network of “public footpaths” that allow you to explore our countryside and coast. If you enjoy being in the open air and love countryside, nature, wildlife, a “Walk and Talk” day or mini-break could add a fantastic extra dimension to your English Naturally course.
“Walk and Talk”, on a “stay at home” or “mini-break” basis, is available to students based in Winchester.
Stay at home
You stay with your host family and go on one or more “day walks”. You can do this before or after your course starts or at weekends. You go home to your host family in the evening, so there is no extra accommodation cost.
The only cost is the guide’s time + any expenses, such as a “pub-lunch”.
Mini-break
You go away for a 2-day or longer walking holiday, with a guide, who will stay in the same hotel or B+B as you.
Not included in the price:
- your own B+B or hotel accommodation (we will book this for you – the cost is likely to be in the range £50-£120 per night
- your own meals.
Included in the price:
- your and the guide’s travel
- your guide’s accommodation
- your guide’s meals.
Transport to and from all walks – usually by car - is provided.
Stay at home day walks
South Downs Way
A long-distance path along the South Downs, extending from Eastbourne in the East to Winchester in the West. Our walks are on sections of the path near Winchester. Beautiful rolling countryside, with views across to the Isle of Wight.
Clarendon Way
An old pilgrims’ path between Winchester and Salisbury. Fantastic countryside, dotted by small villages.
Mini-breaks
Jurassic Coast
English Naturally’s first and most popular walk, along the Dorset coast, west of Winchester. It has been given the “Jurassic” name because of the large number of fossils found in the past, and still to be found preserved in the chalky ground. Views across the English Channel are amazing. The footpath goes right along the coast, forming part of the South-West coast path, which follows the coasts of Dorset, South Devon, Cornwall and North Devon.
