English Naturally works in the area to the south-west of London - one of the most beautiful areas of the UK. Our main centres are Winchester and Bath. You can fly to any London airport and get to Winchester or Bath easily on excellent motorways or by train. Or why not get a flight to Bristol (for Bath - 15 minutes by car) or Southampton (for Winchester - just 10 minutes).

Bath is a fabulous, historic city, set on the river Avon. UNESCO designate it a World Heritage Site, because of its historic and architectural importance. The Romans developed Bath from 47AD and during the 18th and 19th centuries it was a famous cultural centre, attracting such well-known people of the day as Jane Austen, the novelist and William Wordsworth, the poet. Today, Bath is a city of around 70.000 with a lively atmosphere but with beautiful countryside nearby. The much larger city of Bristol is close by.

From Bath, you can easily visit Bristol, London, Oxford, South Wales. Or, for the more adventurous, Devon and Cornwall (the two regions furthest to the South-west of England, with Atlantic coasts) are not far away! Hire a car for the weekend and explore! (car hire is quite cheap in the UK).

Winchester is a quiet city (but really a medium-sized town - it's called a city because of its historical importance) . It boasts the magnificent and world-famous cathedral and is full of parks. The beautiful river Itchen runs through the town and there are many walks and nature reserves along its banks. Winchester is also famous for the College (a large, prestigious, private school) which has educated many of Britain's most famous men (it is a boys-only College)

From Winchester you can easily visit London (56 minutes by train), Oxford or go south to the famous New Forest - an ancient hunting ground which is now a National Park full of wild horses. Or why not visit Bournemouth, Britain's trendiest seaside resort, with miles of beautiful beaches.
