Or spend time at the seaside - here are some picturesque "beach huts" in Bournemouth   Stay outside London in a tranquil environment, but visit London easily.
From Winchester, trains take 56 minutes and depart 4 times per hour

Tennis (public courts + private lessons if you wish)

Fishing (this is one of the best areas in England for trout-fishing - for some locations you may need a licence)

Swimming (good public swimming pools + the sea in summer)

Walking (an incredible network of 1000's of miles of public footpaths)

 
The area has thousands of footpaths through beautiful countryside.
 

Cycling (on or off-road - bikes are allowed to use the same paths used for horse-riding)

Horse-riding (this area is famous for its many stables)
